The legend just keeps growing and growing. Exclusive reporting by WDW Pro two months ago about Marvel seems to now be confirmed.
Back in July, one of our writers here at That Park Place, WDW Pro, was appearing on a livestream with Valliant Renegade and Kamran Pasha. During the livestream, Pro reported that he was hearing Marvel was currently in negotiations for new contracts with very large actors as the studios is gearing up for a multiverse extravaganza. This was in spite of the conversation being mostly about Marvel’s poor performance as of late. Still, Pro has said that his sources are saying Marvel is being very aggressive in getting major names under their big tent.
Now, that reporting exclusively from WDW Pro seems to be coming true.
From the entertainment website, HypeBeast and reporting out of Nicolaus Li regarding insider Emmet Kennedy:
Despite playing Superman in the DC Extended Universe, rumors are now noting that Marvel Studios has signed Henry Cavill for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Entertainment insider, Emmet Kennedy, recently posted a tweet noting rumors of Marvel Studios signing seven actors and actresses.
Aside from Cavill, the names mentioned include John Boyega, Jodie Comer, Daisy Edgar-Jones, John Krasinski, Giancarlo Esposito, and Denzel Washington. Kennedy notes that the talent potentially signed will help lead the Phase 5 plans for the MCU and that the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, will be making an announcement regarding the signings at D23 Expo 2022 held at the Anaheim Convention Center September 9-11. Kennedy also mentioned the upcoming Fantastic Four and X-Menfilms in his tweet.
In addition to the names listed above, WDW Pro is reporting that his sources say Marvel is also either in negotiations or has completed negotiations to feature Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Andrew Garfield and Chris Evans in Phase 5 and Phase 6 MCU movies. And according to his sources, there are more big names to come as Kevin Feige and Marvel leadership look to buy up as much big-name talent as possible in order to create a marketing storm surrounding the multiverse storyline.
For now, Disney has yet to confirm any of this even if other sources around the web are beginning to do so. Expect even more big names as in the months to come.
