Animal Kingdom’s KiteTails Show to End Permanently on September 30th

That’s a wrap for Animal Kingdom’s least enjoyed show of all time. Simba and Company can finally stop slamming into empty stadium seating. Huzzah!

According to a report from WDWMagic, Walt Disney World’s KiteTails show at Animal Kingdom will be ceasing after September 30th. This will be a permanent stoppage and the show is not planned to return.

Although the show was poorly received, scaled-back and reworked, KiteTails just never succeeded in any way other than funny memes of the kites slamming into bleachers. It was perhaps the most lackluster of the anniversary shows developed during the pandemic. Fortunately for Disney, dropping KiteTails is far less expensive than replacing fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. No replacement for KiteTails has been announced… and none may be coming.

Despite its poor reception, we wish all of the cast members who have worked on the project a very speedy turnaround in finding new positions either inside or outside the company. Just because the show didn’t work, nobody involved in driving the jet skis, wearing costumes or helping with logistics should feel any less about their efforts. Cast members are what make the parks work… and that includes making the most of a poor show otherwise.

Good riddance! That looks terrible!

Disney’s really getting rid of their most unpopular festivals lately.

Indeed! I’ve heard they’ve been having some problems lately.
