Sometimes a man can get away for many months with shooting a woman and killing her while filming the whole thing. Perhaps that is coming to an end.

Alec Baldwin may finally be facing the music for the first time. According to a number of reports, Baldwin may be arrested in the near future after Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies requested a large sum of money ($635k) in compensation for forthcoming prosecution of up to four individuals.

We can go through the full story of how we arrived at this point but there are plenty of news sites out there doing the same thing. Does That Park Place really need to add to the hundred stories in the last twenty-four hours? You could also just search for “Alec Baldwin” on our search field on the website to see a number of reports, including some information that was exclusive at the time. So I don’t want to rehash all of that — you’re coming here for original information and analysis. So let’s do that.

Today, I want to look at a comprehensive list of all the reasons that Alec Baldwin should be arrested and prosecuted for the death of Halyna Hutchins. I also want to point out that, once again, if you want to see what real privilege looks like, take a gander at how Baldwin has been treated throughout this process versus how an average person would be dealt with. Mr. Baldwin has vacationed with his family, has been afforded national television interviews to spin his story and has had a number of fluff pieces written all to protect him and his family. Do you want to read about how his wife is having “mommy guilt” after the birth of their seventh child? People Magazine is happy to help you connect with the Baldwins.

I know who should be feeling some guilt, but it isn’t his wife and it isn’t over baby anxieties.

Reasons that Alec Baldwin Should Be Arrested and Prosecuted

  1. Rust Was His Production By His Production Company
How many companies get to have someone die on their watch through malfeasance and the owner has no legal issues? Alec Baldwin wasn’t just the star of some low-budget western — no, this was his company that was in charge of everything. Do you think the gun safety girl with pink hair was inept? Alec Baldwin’s company hired her. Do you think they shouldn’t have been doing target practice for fun with live ammo on the set? Alec Baldwin’s company set the safety protocols and procedures. Do you think pointing a real gun, even if you believe it has no live ammunition, in the direction of another human being is stupid? It is Alec Baldwin’s production that allowed for some a bone-headed and deadly setup.
  2. The Trigger Lie
Most of us have seen Baldwin appear with George Stephanopoulos for his national television interview. It’s the same interview where he concocted the story about how he pulled the hammer back and released it, but he definitely did not pull the trigger. Of course, pulling the hammer back and releasing it is tantamount to pulling the trigger, but let’s set that aside for the moment. The FBI, which may or may not be America’s most loathsome agency, has determined that Baldwin pulled the trigger. Or at least they determined the gun was fired because the trigger was pulled. So why would Baldwin lie about such a thing? Because he knows and his attorneys know it’s a really bad thing if he pulled the trigger in the direction of human beings during a rehearsal.
  3. Sane People Know Not to Point Guns at People
When the story broke that Baldwin had shot two people and thus killed a woman, we were all told in the beginning that the gun was a “prop”. That was untrue. The gun was real, it was always real. Framing it in such a way was just the media’s attempt to protect Baldwin. And Alec Baldwin knew he was handling a real gun. I don’t care who hands you a real gun and how sure you are that it has no live rounds, you never ever point a real gun at real people. This isn’t something earth-shattering. On any competent film or television show set, actors know they are not to point guns at anyone, ever. Directors and choreography experts work hard to set camera angles so that actors may look like they’re pointing a gun at another actor when in reality they are pointing away from them. There’s no way on Earth that Baldwin thought it was okay to swing his arm out at Hutchins and pull the trigger. It’s either lazy or malicious and both are punishable crimes.
  4. Innocent Until Proven Guilty
Finally, the other reason Baldwin should be arrested and prosecuted is because he shot and killed a woman. If somehow he is innocent of murder or manslaughter, a jury of his peers should be the ones to conclude it. It can’t be determined by a district attorney or a corrupt government official. Justice demands that when a person is killed through suspicious means, a trial must occur. If it doesn’t, we have a multi-tiered justice system and that will lead to chaos. We’ve already seen that percolating across the country in different ways. So for the betterment of society, Baldwin should face his peers and explain how this happened. Justice must be blind even if the mainstream and access press are not.
