Rekieta Law Is Back on YouTube — Here’s How He Beat the Mob

One of the biggest advocates for free speech on YouTube has been unbanned. Is the tide turning against those who seek authoritarian censorship?

Censorship has been a growing problem online lately. That’s a major statement considering how much domestic censorship we’ve seen in the last few years. If it’s getting worse, it’s a tremendous issue. Consider that at the same time that a former president and currently political leader (whatever you may think of him) is essentially banned from mainstream internet sites, the Chinese government is out there threatening Elon Musk without a care in the world.

We live in strange times. Regardless of your thought about Trump or his followers, we need to get a handle on the appropriate parameters for how we go about striking people from digital society. Otherwise we run into situations where Iranian terrorists can spread their hatred online while domestic political factions struggle to converse. That’s not sustainable. That inevitably will result in all sorts of societal ills down the road (or now).

But one win is in the bag for those who are in favor of free discourse. One of the biggest legal channels on YouTube was recently deleted from existence by Alphabet as a result of a false flag campaign by his opponents. It wouldn’t have surprised many if Rekieta Law had stayed banned forever. Yet YouTube has reversed their decision and it may point to a near-future where social media companies are aware they’ve pushed the needle far too far.

Our very own Valliant Renegade was on with Rekieta Law via the Legal Mindset YouTube channel. Check out their take on the whole situation:

That’s a win for the good guys in our opinion. Hopefully it’s the beginning of many. We should have principles and parameters that are fairly applied and fairly considered.

What device(s) have you tried?

We’re aware of a loading issue that is caused by our host company. It was supposed to be fully resolved September 30th. We’re having another conversation with them tomorrow to try to have it fixed.
