The world’s biggest streaming platform is looking for another win to keep the competition at bay. Is the world’s most famous emo chick the ticket they need?
Wednesday Adams, the hero of every goth girl on the planet. Played famously by Christina Ricci in the nineties version of the Adams Family, the character is being taken in a slightly different direction by Netflix for their upcoming rendition. In fact, all of the Adams Family characters are presented in a new, unique manner. Will this stick with audiences? Netflix is crossing their fingers — every win they can get at this point would be much needed. For as much as they’ve been winning the ratings war versus Disney+, other platforms like HBO Max and Amazon Prime are proving to be formidable challenges.

Of all the reveals in the trailer thus far, Uncle Fester seems to be the one that might connect with audiences the most. All the other characters have lost some of their charm from what we’ve seen. The Adams family was always macabre, never dreary. They’re more Haunted Mansion than The Haunting.
