You often see discounts for Disney World hotels during non-peak times of the year. But something odd is happening today: Disney is putting a major discount on the market for the summer!
Annual Passholders planning to go to Disney World this summer, get this one while you can. Disney Parks is announcing a 30% discount for AP ticket holders who make a reservation at select Disney World hotels for summer 2023. The window is from May 1st to July 10th, for most nights, and is widely regarded as the busiest time of the year for the resort. So why in the world is Disney throwing out discounts to draw in more people at a time when usually the parks are slammed and the hotels full?
Perhaps this is one of those “levers” CFO Christine McCarthy spoke about in the most recent earnings report. The same earnings report that predicated actions taken by McCarthy to oust former CEO Bob Chapek.
Though a 30% discount on hotels might be a sign of weak reservations for this year — and that’s not a great look for Disney with major investors — it’s simultaneously a fantastic sign for guests. Many of the hotel rooms featured in the promotion are quite expensive, and dropping by 30% can be a major savings for AP guests returning in that three-month summer window.
There’s already a queue associated with trying to get this discount, so I recommend clicking this link to the Disney Website very soon if you’re interested.
