If you’re trying to reach out to the entire marketplace, rather than eliminating half of your audience, you couldn’t ask for a more poisoned pill than Hillary Clinton tweeting her support.
That Park Place is not a political website. We do not take a position as to support for any political party, politician or specific political policy. When entertainment and politics intersect, we may cover the issue at hand.
Republicans are at war with Disney, or so says Hillary Clinton. The former candidate for president of the United States, former first lady, former Senator, etc, tweeted out a message and photo that is sure to send what remaining conservatives supported Disney towards the exit sign. It couldn’t be a worse situation for Disney, a company that just a few years ago was seen as apolitical and family friendly.

But now, with Governor Ron DeSantis taking the company to task over its public campaign to repeal a law banning sexual preference and orientation instruction to preschoolers, and with Hillary Clinton framing the company in this political way… this is an absolute no-win situation for Mickey Mouse.
And to think, it all started with Bob Iger attempting to take down Bob Chapek and using the Florida legislation as the means to do so. Now, he’s back and he’s struggling to clean up the shot that he himself launched at the company. Comeuppance is interesting that way.
Then again, maybe Disney enjoys this sort of thing. So far they seem like the Titanic except instead of turning away from the iceberg, they’re firing the engines at full speed to see if they can smash that obstacle even harder. Can they win with woke? Can they please with politics? We’re about to find out. And 2023 could be a very bumpy ride for everyone involved.
