How much is it worth to get rid of a bad CGI and animation executive who likewise implements devastating strategies across your properties? If you’re Disney and Marvel, it might be worth millions.

A mouse scalp has been had by the law firm of Glaser Weil. The behemoth enclave of high-level Hollywood attorneys was representing two of the biggest female executive lawsuits in California — both of them aimed at The Walt Disney Company. Yet after less-than-a-month, it appears that Victoria Alonso, formerly of Marvel Entertainment, has secured a hefty settlement form Disney. That leaves only Karen McCarthy as a major lady of Hollywood suing Disney through the firm.

Disney has settled with former Marvel Studios VFX chief Victoria Alonso after pink-slipping her last month.

While details between Alonso and Disney are confidential, there was a multimillion-dollar financial compensation, we hear. The deal between the parties was reached in the past few days. Alonso was represented by Glaser Weil Fink Howard Avchen & Shapiro LLP in the dispute, which went public on March 24.

At this point there’s only rumor about the payout, but make no mistake about it: this is a horrible look for Disney. You do not want to be in the middle of layoffs and have a leak that you’re paying a scorned executive millions of dollars to go away. It’s horrible optics. The alleged multi-million dollar settlement seems to fly in the face of Disney’s original public position:

It’s unfortunate that Victoria is sharing a narrative that leaves out several key factors concerning her departure, including an indisputable breach of contract and a direct violation of company policy. We will continue to wish her the best for the future and thank her for her numerous contributions to the studio.

But as of late, horrible optics have become the norm for Disney.
