The abilities known as Quirks can be powerful and flashy to subtle and strategic. Author Kohei Horikoshi has introduced dozens of characters with the majority of them having their own unique Quirks.
In this article, we’ll delve into five of the most unique Quirks, highlighting the extraordinary abilities of Fat Gum, Tamaki Amajiki, Momo Yaoyorozu, Katsuki Bakugo, and Atsuhiro Sako.
5. Atsuhiro Sako’s Compress

Mr. Compress in My Hero Academia Season 3 Episode 5 “Drive It Home, Iron Fist”
Atsuhiro Sako, known as Mr. Compress, possesses the Quirk “Compress.” This Quirk allows him to compress anything he touches into a small, marble-sized form.
Mr. Compress employs this power both for stealthy maneuvers and strategic attacks, demonstrating the creativity that can arise from seemingly simple Quirks. Mr. Compress initially showcased his abilities when he used his Quirk to kidnap Bakugo during the Forest Training Camp arc.
He would go on to show off his abilities by neutralizing a number of his opponents in various battles including the hero Snatch during the Villa Raid arc as well as taking down multiple members of the Meta Liberation Army during the Meta Liberation Army arc.
4. Taishio Toyomitsu’s Fat Absorption

Taishio Toyomitsu also known as Fat Gum wields the Quirk known as “Fat Absorbption.” The Quirk allows him to absorb and store various forms of impact and kinetic energy in his fat tissue. As he accumulates energy, his body undergoes physical changes, and he becomes more resilient.
The more physical attacks he receives the larger and fatter he becomes. It also increases his defenses against future attacks. Not only his his size increased, but so his is his physical strength. His stamina and endurance are also enhanced.
When he so chooses he can use the stored energy to launch powerful counter attacks his foes.
3. Momo Yaoyorozu’s Creation

Momo Yaoyoruzo builds a cannon in My Hero Academia Season 3 Episode 10 “Symbol of Peace”
Momo Yaoyorozu. a member of Class 1-A uses the Quirk, “Creation.” This Quirk allows her to create any non-living object as long as she understands its atomic structure.
Given the nature of her quick Yaoyorozu is one of the top students in her class as she seeks to gain more knowledge to increase the power as well as range of her Quirk. Yaoyorozu’s been known to manifest any number of creations from a massive canon to gas masks and medical supplies. She’s also created communication devices to help her team communicate and gain the advantage on the battlefield.
Yaoyorozu’s Quirk is limited by her stamina and the larger or more intricate items she creates the more they drain her energy.
2. Katsuki Bakugo’s Explosion

Katsuki Bakugo’s explosive Quirk, is called “Explosion,” and is a force to be reckoned with. Bakugo is able to create powerful explosions in his hands by secreting a nitroglycerin-like sweat. He then ignites his sweat by creating sparks through friction.
Bakugo uses his Quirk in a variety of fashions. Obviously, he uses it as an offensive weapon to blast his opponents, but he also uses it give him tactical control over a battlefield by enhancing his mobility allowing him to essentially fly. It also enhances his own physical agility allowing him to evade attacks and counter with devastating effectiveness.
While there are plenty of characters across various mediums that have the ability to create explosions, the idea that he’s able to create them through his nitroglycerin-like sweat is truly unique.
1. Tamaki Amajiki’s Manifest

Tamaki Amajiki in My Hero Academia Season 4 Episode 4 “Fighting Fate”
One of My Hero Academia’s Big Three, Tamaki Amajiki’s Quirk is called Manifest. This ability allows him to take on the characteristics of anything he consumes.
Specifically, he gains various physical attributes of whatever he’s eaten. For example, if he eats calamari he can manifest the tentacles of an octopus. If he eats duck or other flying fowl he can develop wings. He can also gain various transformations at once if he eats several foods at once. Not only can he manifest these physical characteristics, but his strength, agility, speed, and other physical attributes can also be enhanced.
While his Quirk is extremely powerful, the transformations are temporary and will wear off over time. The amount of time it takes for the abilities to wear off depends on the type and quantity of the food consumed.
