One of Walt Disney World’s top buffet restaurants may soon be reopening, although we’re not yet sure if it will be of the same format. Boma Flavors of Africa is reportedly being reopened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge in late August of 2021. The buffet is very high quality, featuring various dishes semi-authentic to cuisines found throughout the continent. Unfortunately, we do not yet know if the restaurant will remain a buffet, or be transformed into a family-style all-you-care-to-eat.

Reported by WDWNT, Animal Kingdom Lodge cast members are reportedly stating to that website an internally-known list of reopenings for various services around the hotel resort. While Jiko and other features are certainly welcomed back, Boma has to be the biggest update for the lodge. A popular restaurant for repeat guests, and a bit of a hidden gem at Walt Disney World, the restaurant is infamous for its Coconut Curry Seafood Soup, the humus bar, and its Zebra Dome desserts. Some items at Boma can be found at other locations, but the full experience cannot be replicated. Additionally, the restaurant pre-pandemic featured a buffet breakfast that many guests have greatly enjoyed.

Once the restaurant is back up and running, expect a new review here at That Park Place. In the meantime, leave a comment below letting us know if you’re excited for the return of most Animal Kingdom Lodge services!
