CD Projekt Red, the video game developer behind The Witcher franchise and Cyberpunk 2077, touted a Diversity Charter Award it received for its “Menstrual Leave” benefits.

The company posted to X, “We’re proud to receive the Diversity Charter Award for our Menstrual Leave benefit in the category of “Innovative Approach to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Business”, which honors organizations showcasing outstanding commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.”
The company added, “This category is chosen by internet users, so thank you to everyone who voted for us!”

From there, it explained the impact of the benefit policy, “Here’s a summary of the impact of this benefit during the first nine months of implementation: 39% of eligible REDs have taken menstrual leave at least once, on a monthly average, 11.3% of eligible REDs use this benefit, [and] 57% used menstrual leave at least twice, with 1% using it every month.”
The company’s Director of Culture, Diversity & Inclusion Agnieszka Szamalek-Michalska added, “These numbers, along with the recognition we’ve received, show that REDs are using this benefit responsibly and highlight the safety and supportiveness of our workplace.”

Next, CD Projekt Red stated, “But we’re not stopping there. We are now part of Career Cycle, a program initiated by the Kulczyk Foundation. This initiative unites organizations and companies that create an inclusive work environment by increasing awareness of menstrual health”
The company concluded, “A big thank you to all individuals who’ve supported us on this journey!”

The company announced its menstrual leave benefit back in March 2023 writing on X, “We’re proud to offer menstrual leave to employees! Team members can now focus on their comfort & health by taking time off when suffering from period pain.”
It added, “It’s all about inclusivity & fostering a supportive workplace inside Red. Kudos to GOG for implementing this benefit first!”

The company previously touted an award it received from 30% Club Poland for the policy back in October 2023. It wrote on X, “Our menstrual leave initiative, which we implemented this April, was recently awarded by 30% Club Poland — we’re honored to be recognized alongside other industry leaders working to increase diversity and inclusion!”
“CD PROJEKT RED was chosen for the DEI Award for our work in promoting acceptance of biological differences and for creating a flexible work environment,” the company stated. “Thank you 30% Club Poland for recognizing our efforts. We hope to continue developing our diversity, equity & inclusion strategies and inspiring others to do the same!”
