Its overnight ratings were 2.12 million.
The sixth episode “Rogue” had overnight ratings of 2.11 million. Weekly ratings for the episode have not been released yet.

The episode’s poor performance also comes in the wake of showrunner Russell T. Davies hinting the show might be scrapped. Davies attempted to spin the show’s previous poor ratings telling Radio Times, “I’m very proud of it! You know, they might not be the ratings we’d love. We always want higher. But they are building over the 28-day period. Episode 1, Space Babies, is already up to 5.6 million and counting. So it is getting there.”
He then touted how the show was allegedly reaching younger audiences, “I was brought back in to bring in a youthful audience. That’s been massively successful.”
“The audience no one ever gets are the under-30s. They just don’t watch television anymore. But those figures are astronomic for Doctor Who, it’s their top programme in that bracket,” he explained.
He then revealed the show might not move forward informing the outlet that the future of the show is “still up in the air.”

The poor ratings come in the wake of actor Ncuti Gatwa telling people to not watch the show if they were not a fan of his casting.
He informed Variety, “Don’t watch. Turn off the TV. Go and touch grass, please, for God’s sake.”

Drag performer Jinkx Monsoon also told viewers off and predicted that for every viewer that the show lost it would bring in three people interested in content aimed for people who do not know that men cannot become women and vice versa.
Monsoon told Slate, “To the people who have issues: The show that you love was created by a queer person. Get over it! A lot of people are going to really love this, and I think this season is going to create a lot of new Doctor Who fans. And if we lose some” Monsoon continued, “don’t let the door hit you on the way out!”
