Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is an enhanced re-release of their popular 2021 game Shin Megami Tensei V with Atlus promising on the game’s website, “Embark on this definitive version of the critically acclaimed Shin Megami Tensei V, massively expanded with a brand-new storyline featuring new locations, demons, and choices to make that will dictate the fate of all existence.”

In the original game players take on the role of a high school student and his friends Yuzuru Atsuta and Ichiro Dazai as they find themselves caught in a war between angels and demons following a cataclysmic event. During this event, the protagonist merges with a being called Aogami and turns into a being called a Nahobino.

From there, the protagonist discovers a way back to Tokyo and is recruited into an international organization called Bethel to keep humanity out of the war between demons and angels.

As is typical with Shin Megami Tensei games it includes a fusion system that allows players to combine demons to create more powerful and unique allies. It also features turn-based combat, where players control a team of demons and engage in strategic battles against various enemies.

Players are also able to recruit new demons by negotiating with them, which can be influenced by the player’s actions and choices.
