Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Financial Officer also revealed the company took a $200 million impairment charge on the game.

He said, “Starting with Studios, the $400 million+ year-over-year decline during Q1 was primarily due to the very tough comp we faced in games against the success of Hogwart’s Legacy last year in the first quarter, in conjunction with the disappointing Suicide Squad release this past quarter, which we impaired, leading to a $200 million impact to EBITDA during the first quarter.”

Furthermore, a report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claimed Warner Bros. and Rocksteady were no longer providing the support they initially intended due to the game’s abysmal failure.

Schreier claimed that Rocksteady is only providing “barebones support” now. He adds that it is “definitely not as much as they’d originally planned.”

Seemingly confirming this report, the game, which originally announced its second season would go live on July 11th recently revealed it would be delayed until July 25th.

The game’s official X account announced, “Update: Task Force X, we’ll be adjusting the release timing for the next season, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Season 2 will now launch on July 25. Thank you for your patience.”
