Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment will attempt to lure gamers to Star Wars Outlaws with the inclusion of Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka into the game as part of its Season Pass.

Ubisoft recently revealed its post-launch roadmap earlier this month and shared that both Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka will be included in future updates.

In a blog post, Ubisoft revealed Calrissian will arrive in a story pack titled “Wild Card” that is set to release in Fall 2024. The company detailed, “Kay is hired to infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament, but as she crosses paths with the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, she soon learns that another game is being played.”

Following the release of “Wild Card,” Ubisoft promises that “A Pirate’s Fortune” arrives in Spring 2025. A brief description states, “The Trailblazer‘s reputation precedes Kay as she runs into veteran pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who is looking to settle old scores with a ruthless gang of pirates.

It’s unclear whether or not Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka will be available to players outside of purchasing the Season Pass. In the blog post, Ubisoft reiterated that the exclusive mission “Jabba’s Gambit” does not put Jabba the Hutt behind a pay wall.

The company wrote, “All players will meet Jabba the Hutt in the main game, but those with Season Pass access will gain an additional quest from the notorious Hutt Cartel. Just as Kay is putting together a crew for her big heist, she receives a job from Jabba the Hutt himself. ND-5 owes Jabba a debt from years ago, and he has come to collect.”

Numerous gamers expressed their distaste for the game when the Jabba the Hutt mission was initially announced believing the character to be behind the pay wall of the Season Pass.

Eric Kain wrote on X, “Ubisoft just openly embracing the Dark Side.”

An Ubisoft spokesman has responded to these comments and others telling IGN, “To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition.”

“The ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix’s journey across the Outer Rim. This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game which includes the season pass,” the spokesman confirmed.

It’s also unclear how Lando Calrissian will be portrayed and voiced. The game is supposed to be set in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so one would expect the character to look like how he was portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in those films rather than Donald Glover, who portrayed the character in Solo.

Ubisoft made no announcement as to who would be voicing Lando or Hondo. Billy Dee Williams has provided the voice for Lando in the past and legendary voice actor Jim Cummings lent his voice to Hondo in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
