Disney World Brings Back Parking Lot Trams!

Disney Parks announced yesterday that they are finally bringing back the parking lot trams at Walt Disney World Resort. That might not seem like a big deal or a huge, newsworthy item… but if you’ve ever tried to walk to the Giraffe parking lot at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll understand. Guests have had to trek on asphalt in the blazing heat, and could be walking long distances in the cold come those January and February nights.

Disney World Parking Lot Trams to Return

But be still your feinting heart, Disney has the trams returning. The relaunching of the parking lot trams will be staggered with Magic Kingdom starting off the return this very month. The other parks will have trams return during the early months of 2022.

And before you start laughing about the trams, let me give you just a bit of scale. The Magic Kingdom parking lot alone is 125 acres large… it can hold 12,000 cars. For someone who runs 5Ks and 10Ks, it might not be such a big deal to park in the back and walk. But for grandparents and those less mobile, it is actually something to think about when going to Walt Disney World.

In case you need a little refresher on the joy of parking lot trams, take a little primer as a prerequisite for your next vehicular drop-off at Walt Disney World:
