It’s a good week for Disneyland management. Not only has the theme park avoided a major cast member strike by agreeing to pay employees three dollars more per hour, but they’re finally getting the Disneyland version of It’s a Small World back up and running.

Down since November, the attraction was flooded allegedly by human error. Disneyland insider, David Koenig was quick to leak alleged information that the ride had been damaged by a valve being left open. This allowed water to reportedly poor into the lower levels of the attraction, flooding the ride and an adjacent gift shop. As a result, an industrial-size dehumidifier was brought in by crane to resolve the issue once water was pumped out.
“A new Small World leaker confirms FloodGate was indeed human error. They forgot to shut a valve. To make things worse an alarm was sounding for over 90 minutes for an urgent pump failure (probably the pump that got overwhelmed & could no longer pump water from electrical vault) … ‘Water boiled and was sent up and out through conduit. Now, however, the ride is expected to reopen this week following a huge effort by Disneyland cast members. An issue like this normally would have taken months to fix, but round-the-clock efforts means that families will still get a chance to see the ride in its holiday format.
