Disney Parks is preparing for a new rollout of internal testing at the Star Wars Galactic Starcrusier hotel. According to That Park Place scooper, WDW Pro, there are practice runs either underway or to begin shortly that will attempt to smooth out some of the weak points at the hotel. Reportedly, these include transition moments for guests and one-on-one improvisational interactions. Large changes to infrastructure, environments, or overall scripting are not planned according to Pro.

The practice runs taking place very soon will then culminate with new internal testing with prize winners and cast members participating. These will act as live rehearsal runs for the workers at the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. According to WDW Magic, these live rehearsals are planned to start as soon as January 18th. Unlike normal tests done at hotels prior to opening, the Starcruiser experience is more like a test run of a cruise ship mixed with a live improv group. Sure, there will be plenty of work on the backstage routine through these tests, but much of the effort will be going into determining feedback from the theatrical nature of the experience. Disney expects to continue running these tests longer than traditional pre-opening hotel trial runs as well… these should run all the way until one week before “lift off”.

The Galactic Starcruiser opens in March at Walt Disney World. Guests interested in a reservation can book through the Walt Disney World website.
