The experts over at Digital Foundry have jumped deep into the stats and technology behind the forthcoming Playstation VR2. The recently announced piece of tech may look a little clumsy, but it apparently is packing some serious power and futuristic abilities. Is this the first device that will give Occulus a run for their money in the virtual reality space? And is this also the first device that will move virtual reality gaming into the utter mainstream?
With 4K HDR in the device, and a ton of next-gen power, it will be very interesting to see how Microsoft, Nintendo, and Meta all respond. Both Microsoft and Nintendo really don’t have a virtual reality response… could we see Occulus partnering with one of the two for wirelessly streamed VR on a Quest 2 or Quest 3?
