As That Park Place continues to grow in readership, we’re constantly looking for ways to provide more to those who keep checking out all the news that should be fun. As a result, we’re welcoming two new writers who have recently joined our endeavor.
First up, Lorn Conner is an excellent commentator on all things Star Wars, Lucasfilm, and narrative philosophy. We’re excited to have Mr. Conner covering things at his whimsy. He has a deeper understanding of the Star Wars legacy content than any other writer here, and we believe he will add tremendously to the conversation so many seem to be having around a galaxy far, far away.
Here’s an excerpt from Lorn’s first article:
When I was a kid, He-Man and Transformers were all the rage. Like most kids at that time, we might have 2 or 3 of each, if we were lucky. Few could afford to buy everything, and so a lot of times you’d end up getting all of your toys from various franchises together to engage in battle royales. It didn’t matter that the toys weren’t canonically in the same universe – at that age, the story isn’t really important. It’s all about how AWESOME something is.
Next, we’re pleased to announce Gregg Thomas has come onboard with TPP. When Mr. Thomas decided he was interested in writing for the site, his first question was, “how niche can I go?” Funny enough, that’s sort of the gig for Gregg. We’re looking forward to plenty of the more niche topics that we haven’t been able to cover in the past. For example, professional wrestling is a huge part of the entertainment industry, especially in streaming revenue. But nobody here has had much knowledge of the topic. That’s not all that Gregg brings to the table though — we’ve found that he has some of the most intricate understandings of various entertainment pieces we don’t have expertise on. So whether it’s wrestling, music documentaries or new hidden gem series, we’re excited to have the writing prowess of Gregg Thomas on our team!
Check out this excerpt from Gregg’s recent article:
I could go into everything that Cody has done since his WWE departure but there’s too much to cover. He had a successful independent run, including a run as Ring of Honor’s World Champion. A stint as New Japan’s United States Champion would soon follow. He (along with the Young Bucks) was the catalyst for the first non-WWE wrestling show to draw 10,000 fans in the United States since 1999. From there he and the Bucks, as Executive Vice Presidents, teamed with Tony Khan to form All Elite Wrestling. Together they brought wrestling back to Turner Broadcasting for the first time since 2001.
We are excited to have both Lorn and Gregg join us, and we’re sure you’re going to greatly enjoy all the information they’re about to bring to the table.
