The Canadian Marvel actress, Evangeline Lilly, is calling for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his government to sit down with representatives of the “Freedom Protest” trucker movement to dialogue on a solution. And while you might think that calling for conversation and middle ground solutions would be well-received, we as a society have come to learn that there are certain elements within our sub-cultures that are not interested in such steps.

You might not expect backlash to come from some of the places we’re seeing it, however. Whereas That Park Place takes no position on vaccine mandates, politics, or other contentious issues (we recommend you talk to your medical doctor for medicinal issues and follow political news from political news websites), we’re amazed at other “theme park” websites that go in the opposite direction.
Take for example Inside the Magic.
That website has put out an article which is titled “Marvel Star Canceled: Defends Canadian Trucker Protest, Blasts Trudeau“, which is about as misleading a title as you’ll ever come across. Evangeline Lilly has not been cancelled. She has asked for two opposing sides to speak with one another, and a bunch of Twitter weirdos want her head on a plate as a result. But it’s worse than that, because this supposed “theme park” site then goes on to use a Twitter handle called “PatriotTakes” to prove their point. The problem is that PatriotTakes is that Meidas Touch PR Twitter handle… the same Meidas Touch that is funded by far-left Super PACs and has been out to try to take down the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Why would a theme park website be using a far-left hitjob racket like PatriotTakes?
Again, remember, this article isn’t taking a side in regards to any of this stuff. Our writers at That Park Place certainly have their own (and different) political viewpoints, but the goal is to keep that out of the articles. It just goes to show you, however, that even when you’re just wanting to read about stuff that should be fun, there are people with agendas out there.
Here are some things that everyone should hope for in Canada if you’re sane (and these are not political). We should hope for more dialogue, for more peace, for more freedom, for more altruism, and for more prosperity. We should hope that all parts of Canadian society can find a way to moderate and live in harmony.
And no, curling isn’t a real sport. Even if all love good people living in Canada!
