It’s being reported on WDWNT that the cast and crew for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser have just finished a celebratory weekend. It looks like a good time was had by all as all the workers getting ready to open the brand-new, expensive experience joined in on a major party from a galaxy not so far away.

You can read more about their festivities on the Cast and Community Facebook Account.
But even while the Starcruiser workers are having a great time, it seems that Disney is still struggling with cancellations from would-be “passengers”. Again, WDWNT had the first scoop on this one. According to screenshots and information they have, Disney is asking those with Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser reservations how likely it might be that they will cancel in the future. In other words, it may not have been a case of just a few cancellations as many were claiming.
As of right now, Disney has the hotel role-playing experience solidly booked through June. It will be interesting to see if they can keep that locked-in as we get closer to some of those ninety-day cancellation limits. It will be especially interesting once we see how the reviews turn out. Frankly, while we’ll be covering all the grand opening stuff here at That Park Place, I wouldn’t recommend using the media-only reviews as a good barometer of what the experience is like. More likely, we’ll get high quality reviews from people who actually shelled out six-thousand dollars for the first “voyages” during the first week of March.
Needless to say, those reviews are going to be hugely important if Disney is to be successful with this first iteration of the hotel. Glorious access media reviews will only go so far if normal guests aren’t having fun. On the flip side, if Disney can knock it out of the park with this one, we may not have seen the last ultra-expensive LARP experience at the Disney Parks.
