Even as the lights of Hollywood begin to dim for Mark Hamill, the actor behind Luke Skywalker isn’t ready to fade quietly. Instead, he’s become one of the most candid and persistent voices in political commentary today. Whether or not he is effective at persuading anyone along political lines is a question worth asking.
In a recent episode of the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast, Hamill didn’t mince words. He expressed deep regret that Americans re-elected Donald Trump, saying:
“It’s one thing for him to have sneaked by the first time — when he got re-elected, that’s on us… because I always thought there are more decent Americans, honest Americans than there are others.”
“I still believe there are more honest, decent people than there are the MAGA crowd. If I didn’t, I’d move back to England.”

What’s so amazing about Mark Hamill’s statement here, going even beyond what he has expressed abrasively in the past, is that he is explicitly calling Trump supporters dishonest and indecent.
Mark Hamill sparks controversy while speaking at FAN EXPO Chicago telling fans, “go force yourself.” He later told fans to make sure they were registered to vote-

He even told The Times he had considered uprooting his life—and his wife’s—to London or Ireland, a notion his wife gently but firmly rejected. “‘She’s very clever’… ‘I’m surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country,’” he recalled, and concluded, “I’m not leaving.”
Once a fixture in blockbuster franchises and voiceover roles, Hamill’s direct involvement in major new Hollywood projects has tapered off. A glance at his filmography reveals fewer prominent credits of late, suggesting he may be stepping back from acting and stepping up his role as a politically engaged public figure, even though he doesn’t seem to be successful in this new attempt. This transition to outspoken advocacy may be his current calling, perhaps costing him opportunities on screen as they become less frequent. There’s significant question now if he’s even attached at all to The Mandalorian and Grogu. Have Mark’s remarks cost him twilight cameos and accolades?

Despite being stripped away from the spotlight, Hamill remains adept at making headlines. On May 3, 2024, he made an unexpected appearance at the White House. Following a meeting with then-President Joe Biden, he popped into the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room, donned a pair of aviator sunglasses gifted by Biden, and quipped: “Can I call you ‘Joebi-Wan Kenobi’?” The president, reportedly, loved the nickname. Hamill would also go on to advocate for then-President Biden’s mental clarity… a claim that may have exposed Hamill and his lack of credibility given the debate performance one month later.
Hamill didn’t just attempt a celebrity charm offensive on that day, he used the opportunity to highlight Biden’s legislative victories, including the Infrastructure Law, the PACT Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. He lauded Biden as “the most legislatively successful president in my lifetime.” So it is no wonder that Hamill is lashing out at Americans who were not swayed by his activist attempts at keeping President Biden in the White House.

Hamill’s political engagement has become almost an extension of his persona—his voice as resonant now in political commentary as it once was wielding a lightsaber. Especially since he’s noted that he doesn’t foresee another Star Wars comeback, it seems his life’s next chapter may be less about the Force and more about civic insults about his fellow Americans.

The TDS is strong with this one.
I was considering seeing The Long Walk, despite it supporting Stephen King, because I remember really liking the story when it was first released in the “Bachman Books” and no one knew it was Stephen King’s alias.
Now, knowing both these communist idiots are involved, my chances of seeing in the theater, if ever, are zero.
The very thing that Luke fought against in the 1970s, the fascist actor has become. The Dark side. Without Darth Vader’s charm, to boot.
Trump is the outside Rebellion against the woke Empire, that stole the 2020 election, and tried to do the same in 2024, except Musks lawyers turned back trucks of fake votes.
