The claim that Millie Bobby Brown filed ‘pages and pages’ of accusations against Stranger Things co-star David Harbour appears to be falling apart, with the show’s director calling them “wildly inaccurate.”
Last Saturday night, the Daily Mail set social media on fire with an exclusive report that Harbour had harassed and bullied his on-screen adopted daughter. Readers quickly noticed that no sources were given other than Harbour’s ex-wife’s friend. Netflix has offered no confirmation, nor has Brown.

The timing raised eyebrows. Harbour’s ex-wife, singer Lily Allen, had just released a tell-all break-up album (Rolling Stone calls it “the most brutal album of the year”), describing their often turbulent relationship. Harbour, meanwhile, was preparing for the major promotion leading up to the final season of Stranger Things.
But all eyes were on Brown, and internet sleuths haven’t stopped combing through past footage for signs.
Looking Back
On Tuesday, the New York Post shared a resurfaced video from March 2024 where Brown seemed uncomfortable when Harbour’s name was mentioned. The MTV interview was about Brown’s upcoming wedding to Jake Bongiovi, with reporter Josh Horowitz joking that Harbour was officiating the wedding.

Brown, apparently uncomfortable, replied, “I don’t know how I feel [about that]. Sure.”
As it happened, Matthew Modine, her “other” TV dad on Stranger Things, did perform the ceremony. It’s unclear why Brown hesitated; she may have simply been uncomfortable with the joke. Unless Brown feels compelled to discuss this further, we’ll never know for sure what was going through her mind in that moment.
Some of the Stranger Things crew, however, are speaking out.
The Stranger Things World Premiere Was Very Normal
The Hollywood Reporter didn’t hesitate to ask Stranger Things co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer about the allegations as they walked the red carpet Thursday evening.
Ross Duffer replied, “Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”

Director and executive producer Shawn Levy was also asked for comment. “I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to … there’s so much noise around it,” Levy said. “But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock.”
Also at the premiere were Brown and Harbour, who appeared perfectly natural together.

The reunion (as the Daily Mail put it) could have been carefully orchestrated damage control with the actors agreeing to do what they do best—act.

Brown has recently made headlines for say the press bullied her over her appearance. Ironically, she made her comments to Teen Vogue—part of the press. But as far as Harbour goes, bullying is not an accusation she’s publicly lodged against him.

When the first part of Stranger Things’ fifth and final season hits Netflix on November 26, we can be sure people won’t just be watching for the story, but also any clues of off-screen drama.
