What has been confirmed is Brainiac’s role in Man of Tomorrow. James Gunn has already revealed that the iconic Superman villain will serve as the film’s primary antagonist. That confirmation alone has fueled months of casting rumors, with multiple actors previously linked to the role in various reports.

Dave Bautista now joins a growing list of names that have circulated in connection with Brainiac, including Matt Smith, Claes Bang, and Sam Rockwell. None of those discussions have resulted in an official announcement, and DC Studios has not commented publicly on any casting deliberations.
According to Sneider, Bautista’s name has come up in discussions and he is being viewed as a frontrunner. However, no deal is in place and nothing has been finalized.
