Our story for today comes from WDW Magic where forum contributor Danlb_2000 has shared the plans for the new Polynesian DVC being built where the Luau once performed. The Polynesian DVC has come under some scrutiny for looking quite similar to a scrubbed DVC structure that had been planned for the Fort Wilderness area (specifically where River Country once stood). The scrutiny is that some people feel this goes beyond being inspired by a differently themed resort and is more of a copy and paste job. Whether that is true or not is a subject for a future article.
Whatever may happen, we absolutely do hope that the DVC will fit in well with its surroundings and theme. I also might hope that it won’t clutter the shoreline too much. Part of the beauty of the Seven Seas Lagoon is the mix of nature and architecture. If it becomes all architecture, it’s going to look far less beautiful. I miss the days of watching fireworks from the little wedding spot at the Polynesian.
