A new Spider-Man: Brand New Day plot leak is making the rounds online, and if the rumored details are accurate, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next Spider-Man installment could introduce mutants into the franchise in a major way.

The reported story development centers on Peter Parker teaming up with a young Jean Grey while being hunted by the government organization Damage Control.

While none of the details have been confirmed by Marvel Studios or Sony, the rumor has sparked significant discussion among fans about what the fourth Spider-Man film might look like following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man Brand New Day Plot Leak Suggests Jean Grey Is Captured

According to industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Sadie Sink’s character—who is widely rumored to be Jean Grey from the X-Men—becomes the focal point of the film’s central conflict.\

The reported Spider-Man: Brand New Day plot leak claims that Jean Grey is captured by the government agency Damage Control, which has already been established in the MCU as an organization tasked with handling super-powered threats.

In the rumored storyline, Spider-Man ultimately rescues her from captivity. The two then spend a large portion of the film on the run together, with an X-Men villain aggressively pursuing them.

If accurate, the premise would effectively place Spider-Man in the middle of a mutant-related storyline, something that would mark a significant shift for the character’s solo MCU films.

Tramell Tillman’s Character Could Lead Damage Control

Another major detail connected to the Spider-Man Brand New Day plot leak involves actor Tramell Tillman, who reportedly plays a high-ranking figure within Damage Control.

Multiple rumor accounts have suggested Tillman may portray William Metzger, a relatively obscure X-Men villain who is associated with anti-mutant sentiment.

In the MCU version of the character, Metzger is reportedly being reimagined as the leader of Damage Control, positioning him as a major antagonist hunting both Jean Grey and Spider-Man.

While Metzger may not be the film’s primary villain, the character’s role could establish a broader anti-mutant government storyline that ties into Marvel’s long-anticipated X-Men reboot.

Reports have also indicated that Tillman signed a multi-film deal with Marvel Studios, which would suggest the character may appear again in future projects.

Tombstone And Scorpion May Still Be The Main Villains

Despite the rumored focus on Jean Grey and Damage Control, earlier reports indicate that Spider-Man’s traditional rogues gallery may still play a major role.

According to previous leaks, the film’s primary antagonists are expected to be:

  • Lonnie Lincoln / Tombstone, reportedly portrayed by Marvin Jones III
  • Mac Gargan / Scorpion, returning from earlier MCU appearances

Both characters have longstanding ties to Spider-Man in the comics and would bring the story back to the street-level crime elements that many fans have wanted to see in a Spider-Man sequel.

The Punisher

If these plot leaks hold true, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could feature multiple intersecting conflicts, combining organized crime threats with a larger government crackdown on emerging mutants.

The story will also reportedly feature John Bernthal as The Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, so there’s a lot going on in this one.

The Story Picks Up After No Way Home

The film will reportedly take place some time after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with Doctor Strange casting a spell that erased Peter Parker’s identity from the world.

That narrative reset leaves Peter completely isolated, without the support system he previously had in earlier films.

The rumored Spider-Man: Brand New Day plot leak would build on that premise by placing Peter in another difficult position—protecting a powerful young mutant while being pursued by federal authorities.

It also potentially opens the door for mutants to begin appearing within the Spider-Man corner of the MCU, something that has been widely speculated about ever since Disney acquired the X-Men rights from Fox.

Spider-Man Brand New Day Release Date

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters July 31, 2026 as part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Spider-Man Mysterio

With production ramping up and rumors beginning to circulate online, it likely won’t be long before Marvel Studios begins revealing more official information about what the next chapter of Spider-Man’s MCU story will actually look like.

Sounds awful. Shady Stink bores me. Ruffalo humps a buffalo is in it, and when did Andrew Garfield play Peter Park?

WTF?

Damage Control is just supposed to be a clean-up crew.

Modern movies are joyless. Looks like some Girlboss is gonna pussywhip Spiderman, because he can no longer get the job done without a “strong generic female character”.
Yes, he’ll be reduced to her simp sidekick.
As happened to Indy J, Superman, etc. etc. etc. 🙄
