While my family and I were in Orlando for spring break one year, my wife and I attended an annual owner’s update meeting. These meetings are set up to show some of the newest properties added to the growing Hilton collection. The lovely folks from sales let you know what great opportunities there are to add more points to a family’s portfolio. When you finally let them know that you aren’t purchasing anything today, then the last effort to lock you in to the last deal offered, they bring out a package worth one week stay in Las Vegas, Hawaii or New York City. We weren’t ready to purchase more points at the time so we decided to buy the one week vacation package.

Details In The Package
The one week vacation package had to be used within 18 months of purchase or you would lose it. The money spent on this package would be deducted from the price that we agreed to at our meeting. Our stay would be in a one bedroom suite at any of the properties listed for availability. The end of our 18 months was going to be close to July of 2020. Because of Covid-19, Hilton Grand Vacations extended this vacation another six months. Again, we could go to Las Vegas, Hawaii or New York City.
Family Vacation in Las Vegas
So my adult children have not traveled much outside of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. We decided to fly out to Las Vegas for Christmas where we could visit some sites in Utah and Arizona. Several options were available for our stay in Las Vegas. We decided to stay at the Trump International Hotel. It was definitely the most extravagant place that we have ever stayed. The valet service, check-in, the lobby, the gift shop and restaurant were all on the first floor and it was beautiful. The room was much bigger than we had ever experienced. The views from our room were amazing as you could see for miles. The fitness center was basically a mini-Planet Fitness with all of the machines and weights available to use. The pool and pool deck were enormous and not many people were using because it was quite cool in late December. There were still a few enthusiasts that enjoyed it.

Another Owner’s Update
We stayed there from December 26th until January 1st. My family absolutely loved our stay at the Trump Hotel. We did attend another owner’s meeting. It was at the Elara. The person from sales took us on a tour of a few of the suites available at the Elara. The views were amazing in all of the 2/3/4-bedroom suites. He suggested using points for the 4-bedroom suite for a bachelorette/bachelor party. We took note of that since we have adult children. We ended up buying more points before we left that day. I would strongly suggest to attend owner’s meetings as close to the end of the year as possible. We received more bonus points added to our agreement than we normally get offered earlier in the year. Just a suggestion.
I believe that we need to get back there to enjoy this resort and its pool. Hopefully soon!
