We have covered the potential impact of Elon Musk buying Twitter on multiple occassions. Now we’re going to find out if those predictions will be accurate. As of 3:00 PM EST on April 25th, 2022, Elon Musk has purchased all of Twitter for the cost of forty-four billion dollars ($44,000,000,000). The board has accepted the sale and Twitter will now become a privately owned company under the total control of Elon Musk.
Twitter has attempted a number of times to block Elon Musk from ownership. They tried to have him sit on the Board of Directors — under the rules he would be maxed out at 15% stock ownership and would have censored his speech lest he jeopardize his “fiduciary responsibilities.” After that didn’t work, Twitter instituted a “poison pill” strategy aimed at stopping Musk from buying the company through traditional means. Now, however, with Musk able to totally finance the purchase in coordination with Morgan Stanley, Twitter has succumbed.
Control of Twitter is important to the Mars mission in ways we don't fully understand yet.

The biggest losers to an @elonmusk buyout of @twitter will be TRUTH Social and GETTR.

I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means

We will continue to cover the Twitter news from an entertainment and tourism perspective. Don’t expect us to write articles on the possible return of Donald Trump or other political figures. That’s not what we do at That Park Place. From the standpoint of entertainment, however, Musk buying Twitter has the potential to be as big as the introduction of the iPhone. It could be that big.
