Honestly we think of 3rd wave feminism being the problem but these things predate further than we’re aware. This is off topic, but I wanted to challenge your emphatic statement suggesting Jews owned the most slaves. That carries a heavy burden of proof or at least showing your work. Neither of which is provided; instead we get a lot of hyperbole. We should be as accurate as possible, using facts.
Looking at multiple points in history, world-wide, slave ownership by Jews was maybe on par, per capita, with whites. The problem is that there were always more non-Jews than Jews. Figures may look different if we go back to the days of Abraham and start counting from there but even then I doubt Jews come out ahead.
Here are my primary assumptions:
1. I will not trust the theories that Jews owned most of the transport that handled the Atlantic slave trade. This gives those Jews ownership of the slaves for at least the time they got on the boat till the time they disembarked and is a semantic hair splitting.
2. The census figures for the western world are relatively accurate from 1700 on.
3. We are only looking at the citizen owned slaves, and not including slaves owned a governmental entity or Monarchy.
4. We are not going back all the way to biblical sources, we will stick with the “modern” era from 1500 to now.
In the modern era Jewish household slave ownership as a % of world-wide non-Jewish slave ownership is almost a rounding error (0.3 – 0.5 vs. 99.5 non-Jewish). Specifically, for the Atlantic Passages, 45% went to Jew-hostile Spanish and Portuguese Catholic colonies South America with another 20-25% to Haiti. So only 35% of all slaves brought over the Atlantic ended up in the US.
Finally, Africans were responsible for the Atlantic slave trade. I don’t feel any sort of generational guilt about this topic.
I haven’t made a decision on Jews yet. I don’t think they warrant their prestige position in American politics, media, or other high end profession, nor do I believe that Israel is the key to survival when Christ returns.
