There are weeks in comics where a release matters because it is a good book, and then there are weeks where a release matters because it changes the shape of the universe itself. This week is the latter. Rippaverse is stepping into one of its biggest milestones yet with a dual release that hits from two very different directions—Exclave #1 and Claw & Covenant.

One is the opening shot of the first major crossover event in Rippaverse history. The other is a dark, personal descent into the shadowed heart of the Bloodruth legacy. Together, they represent something important: scale and intimacy, world-shaking stakes and deeply personal horror, the kind of balance that makes a universe feel alive.

Exclave #1 Launches the First Major Rippaverse Crossover Event

Exclave #1 is not just another issue, it’s the official kickoff of the Rippaverse’s first major crossover event, the moment where everything that has been building begins to collide. The Devling King has emerged from the Underearth. Florespark is now ground zero. Heroes who have operated in separate corners of this universe are about to be forced together for the first time. This is the opening chapter of a limited series designed to dramatize the crossover from the inside, and it is positioned as essential reading for what comes next.

Shared universes live and die by their crossover moments. These are the stories that test whether the foundation was built strong enough to carry the weight. They are where readers stop asking if a world is connected and start seeing it happen on the page.

For Rippaverse, Exclave is that moment. This is the payoff to the teases, the hints, the moving pieces, and the long game of worldbuilding. It’s the point where fans get to watch those threads tighten into something undeniable. The invasion from below has begun, and when it ends, nothing in the Rippaverse will look the same.

Eric D. July Brings the Rippaverse Universe Together

Eric D. July has never approached storytelling as a side project. He built Rippaverse Publishing from the ground up as an independent comic book company with a direct relationship to readers, and in just a few years it has generated over $15 million in sales. His debut title, Isom #1, became one of the most successful independent comic launches of all time, and since then he has anchored an entire shared universe through action-driven storytelling, creator ownership, and a refusal to compromise the relationship between creator and fan.

Exclave feels like the natural next step because you do not spend years building a universe just to keep everyone standing politely in separate rooms. Eventually, the walls come down, the city catches fire, and the heroes have to meet. That is what this story represents for the Rippaverse as a whole.

With interior art by Will Conrad, colors by Alex Guimarães, and letters by Invisible Art Studio, this 56-page launch issue carries the weight it should. It is not a side story or a side mission. It is the beginning of the event.

Claw & Covenant Expands the Bloodruth Horror Legacy

If Exclave is the sound of the city shaking, Claw & Covenant is the sound of something breathing in the dark just beyond the trees.

This story takes readers back into the Bloodruth corner of the Rippaverse, where horror is personal and monsters are never just monsters. Sydnee Bloodruth faces the Thief of Shadows, an ancient Hellian demon that knows her fears, knows her future, and steals something no Bloodruth can survive without.

Bloodruth in Rippaverse

Bloodruth – Rippaverse

To get it back, she must follow him into the Shadow World—a place of lost shadows, lurking giants, and promises that should never be trusted. She has until dawn, she is alone, and the darkness is patient.

That premise already has teeth, but what makes it sharper is who is writing it.

The Soska Sisters Bring Bloodruth Horror to Life in Claw & Covenant

Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska, owners of Twisted Twins Productions, are creators who understand how horror works when it matters. Not just blood and monsters, but fear as identity, fear as inheritance, and fear as the thing waiting for you when nobody else is coming.

Their work in film—especially American Mary, which The Hollywood Reporter recognized as one of the top 50 Canadian films ever made—proved they know how to build tension with precision. Their work with Marvel on Black Widow, Deadpool, and other titles proved they can carry established characters without losing their own voice. At Rippaverse, they have already brought that intensity to Yaira and Bloodruth, and Claw & Covenant feels like the place where all of that experience gets to hit at once.

This is Bloodruth horror at its best: atmospheric, intimate, and brutal. It is not a story about saving the world, but about proving what one Bloodruth can do alone when legacy, fear, and survival all demand an answer.

With art by Megan Mushi and letters by Invisible Art Studio, the book leans fully into supernatural horror while keeping the emotional center locked on Sydnee herself.

Why Exclave #1 and Claw & Covenant Mark a Major Turning Point for Rippaverse

That is what makes this dual release so strong. Exclave shows the universe expanding, while Claw & Covenant shows the universe deepening. One asks what happens when the world changes, while the other asks what happens when you are alone in the dark and the world expects you to survive anyway.

Both matter, and both are proof that Rippaverse is not interested in being small.

The first major crossover event is not a marketing phrase. It is a statement that says the foundation is strong enough now to build bigger, the stories are ready to collide, and readers are not just buying single issues anymore—they are watching a universe evolve in real time.

This week is not just about two books hitting the store. It is about a universe taking its next step, with Exclave #1 beginning the event and Claw & Covenant reminding readers why the shadows matter. If you have been waiting to see where all of this was going, the answer is simple: it starts here.

Rippaverse has been such a disaster I’m surprised it’s still around.

Eric July SHOULD have focused on making Isom 1-5 or so, and introduced Characters during it. THEN he could have Spin Offs based on how people liked the Characters introduced in the main Comic.
The idea of making a single Comic, and then having multiple Spin Offs or even new IPs is so retarded, it’s baffling.

I’m looking forward to seeing how the crossover event will be handled. The Rippaverse really needs a timeline now to keep track of things.
