‘Widow’s Bay’ Creators Claims Show Started Life as Episode of ‘Parks & Rec’

The horror-comedy Widow's Bay has been a breakout hit for Apple TV+. While the series is set on a cursed New England island, creator Katie Dippold says the idea for the show originated somewhere very different.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Dippold revealed that the concept that eventually became Widow's Bay began life years ago as a spec script for the sitcom Parks & Rec.
