Disney is expanding its digital collectibles program with an America 250 digital pin collection available through Disney Pinnacle. As part of the promotion, eligible Disney+ subscribers can claim a free Mickey Mouse digital pin through the Disney+ Perks program.

The America 250 collection was created to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. The collection includes six digital pins featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Pluto. While the collection includes multiple characters, only the Mickey Mouse pin is being offered as a Disney+ subscriber benefit.

What Is Disney Pinnacle?

Disney Pinnacle is Disney’s digital pin collecting platform, created in partnership with Dapper Labs. The service allows users to collect, display, and trade digital pins featuring characters and properties from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars.

The platform brings elements of traditional Disney pin collecting into a digital format. Instead of exchanging physical pins at theme parks or other locations, users manage their collections online through Disney Pinnacle.

Disney’s Digital Pin Strategy

The America 250 collection represents another step in Disney’s development of digital collectibles. The company has explored ways to connect existing collecting traditions with online platforms through products such as Disney Pinnacle.

Disney has not announced that digital pins will replace traditional physical pin trading. Instead, Disney Pinnacle operates as a separate digital collecting experience alongside physical merchandise and existing collector activities.

The future role of digital pin trading within Disney’s broader merchandise plans remains unclear. The America 250 collection provides an example of how Disney is combining subscriber benefits, licensed characters, and digital technology in a new collecting format.
