Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on August 30, 2026, failed to sell out. The result ended a stretch of four completed seasons in which every scheduled party night eventually sold out.

The August 30 event took place at Magic Kingdom as scheduled, with tickets still available on the day of the party. That makes it the first party night since the event returned in 2022 to reach its date without selling all available tickets.

The development comes despite strong sales across much of the 2026 schedule. Several dates sold out weeks or months before their scheduled events, including Halloween night and multiple dates in August, September and October.

A Change After Four Seasons of Sellouts

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returned in 2022 after Disney canceled the event in 2020. Disney offered a different Halloween event, Disney After Hours Boo Bash, at Magic Kingdom in 2021.

Every date of the 2022 party eventually sold out. The final tickets disappeared on September 11 of that year.

The same pattern continued in 2023, 2024 and 2025, with all dates being sold out in 2025 by September 24. Each season reached a full sellout before its final scheduled event. That made the 2026 August 30 party the first exception since the event returned after its lockdown-related break.

The sellout streak for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party had therefore lasted through four complete seasons before August 30.

Ticket availability can change as sales continue. Disney does not guarantee that tickets will remain available for any specific date, and prices vary based on the selected party night.

What to expect at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event at Magic Kingdom. The party runs from 7 p.m. to midnight. Ticket holders can enter the park as early as 4 p.m.

The event includes Halloween entertainment, trick-or-treating, special character appearances and select attraction overlays. Several major shows return in 2026.

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade returns with Disney characters, villains and Haunted Mansion characters. The parade is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular also returns. Jack Skellington hosts the fireworks show. The production uses fireworks, projections and lasers around Cinderella Castle.

The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular returns to the Cinderella Castle stage. The Sanderson Sisters lead the show. Disney villains including Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie and Maleficent also appear.

The 2026 party adds two new entertainment offerings. Stitch’s Masquerade Mashup! takes place at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Stitch hosts the experience with Lilo and Angel. It includes dancing, games and candy giveaways.

Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash is another new addition. The Adventureland experience features Captain Jack Sparrow recruiting and training new pirates. Guests can also see a pirate band and jugglers.

Other returning offerings include the Cadaver Dans in Frontierland and character appearances throughout Magic Kingdom. Dance parties and Halloween-themed trick-or-treating also remain part of the event.

What the sellout change means

The August 30 event provides a clear break from the sales pattern seen since Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party returned in 2022. That made it the first party night since the event’s 2022 return that did not sell out by the time the event began.

It does not, however, provide enough information to measure an overall change in attendance.

The rest of the 2026 schedule will show whether that remains an isolated result or becomes part of a wider change in the event’s sales pattern.
