YouTube TV subscribers can now access ESPN Unlimited directly through the platform’s app at no additional cost.

The long-awaited integration gives customers whose plans include ESPN access to the service’s complete catalog of live events and on-demand programming without requiring them to switch between apps.

“Game on! ESPN Unlimited content is now available directly on YouTube TV,” the company announced Tuesday.

Subscribers can also use familiar YouTube TV features—including unlimited DVR storage, multiview, key plays, scores, and statistics—with ESPN Unlimited programming.

The addition follows the contentious carriage negotiations between Google and The Walt Disney Company last fall, which ultimately produced a new multiyear distribution agreement.

ESPN Unlimited Arrives After Bitter Disney Dispute

Google’s previous distribution agreement with Disney expired on October 30, 2025, causing ESPN, ABC, FX, National Geographic, and other Disney-owned networks to disappear from YouTube TV.

The blackout occurred during the NFL, NBA, NHL, and college football seasons, leaving sports fans without access to numerous games. YouTube TV eventually offered affected subscribers a $20 credit as the dispute stretched across approximately two weeks.

Both companies publicly blamed each other for the breakdown.

Disney accused Google of attempting to secure preferential terms that would place other distributors at a disadvantage. Google countered that Disney was using the threat of a blackout to force subscribers to accept higher prices.

When the companies announced their new multiyear agreement on November 14, they confirmed that ESPN Unlimited would eventually become available to YouTube TV base-plan subscribers at no additional charge.

However, the service was not immediately incorporated into YouTube TV. Subscribers were initially told that full integration would arrive sometime in 2026.

That promise has now been fulfilled nearly 10 months after the blackout ended.

ESPN Unlimited Adds More Sports Content

ESPN launched its direct-to-consumer streaming service in August 2025, providing access to programming previously divided between its linear networks and ESPN+.

The Unlimited tier includes ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, and ACC Network. It also carries ESPN+ programming, along with additional events from SEC Network+ and ACC Network Extra.

Subscribers can watch thousands of professional and collegiate sporting events, as well as programs such as SportsCenter, College GameDay, First Take, and ESPN’s 30 for 30 documentaries.

Standalone access currently costs $29.99 per month. However, that price will increase to $31.99 per month—or $319.99 annually—on September 17, according to Variety.

The Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited bundle costs $35.99 per month. The ad-free Premium bundle costs $44.99 per month.

YouTube TV’s base plan costs $82.99 per month, meaning the ESPN Unlimited integration could provide substantial savings for customers who were already paying for both services separately.

More Value Brings More Complexity

The agreement also demonstrates how carriage disputes increasingly involve more than traditional television channels. As media companies move valuable programming into proprietary streaming services, distributors must negotiate for digital access and app integration alongside conventional network rights.

For YouTube TV subscribers, the October blackout was a frustrating reminder that streaming bundles remain vulnerable to the same contract disputes that have plagued cable and satellite providers for decades. At least this particular standoff ultimately produced a meaningful benefit: complete ESPN Unlimited access inside the app customers already use.

At the same time, the growing number of streaming bundles adds new layers of complexity. Rather than choosing between two local cable or satellite providers, sports fans must now compare an expanding collection of services and packages to determine which offers the best value for their money.
