Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a Notice of Commencement for a new construction project near the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom. The permit filing provides additional information about work taking place near the attraction and the future Piston Peak National Park.
The filing lists 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive as the project address, which does not currently match any locations inside Magic Kingdom. The Haunted Mansion is listed at 1600 Magic Kingdom Drive. PCL Construction Services is identified as the contractor, while the work is described as general construction.
Disney has not publicly announced the purpose of the structure connected to the filing. However, a building in the same area appears in Disney’s Piston Peak National Park model with restroom signage.
What the Permit Shows
The September 2026 filing identifies 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive as the project address. The address is a new location that does not appear in existing county records. The filing lists PCL Construction Services and general construction as the scope of work.
The project’s location provides additional context. The site sits beside the Haunted Mansion and within the broader area being redeveloped for Piston Peak National Park.

An earlier January 2026 permit showed a roughly 5,800-square-foot structure next to the Haunted Mansion. At that time, the building’s purpose had not been publicly established.
The newer filing gives the project a specific address and identifies the contractor, but it does not resolve the building’s intended use on its own.
The Piston Peak Model
Disney presented a detailed model of Piston Peak National Park at D23 in August 2026. Disney said the model measured 19 feet by 19 feet and showed the planned themed area and its attractions.
The model also included the area around the Haunted Mansion. A small building beside the Haunted Mansion carries restroom signage. The publication connected that structure with the building shown in the earlier January permit.
Piston Peak National Park Construction
The new construction sits within the broader area being redeveloped for Piston Peak National Park. Disney says the new area will continue the storytelling of Frontierland and will form part of a major expansion at Magic Kingdom.

Piston Peak will occupy the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area. Disney has announced two attractions for the new area: Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along.
Cars Ridge Run Rally will take guests through a landscape inspired by American national parks. Disney has described mountain trails, snowy areas and geysers as elements of the attraction’s setting. The ride will use a new vehicle designed around an off-road driving system.

Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along will feature Miss Fritter from Cars 3. Disney announced the attraction at D23 as the second ride planned for Piston Peak.
The Permit
The September filing confirms construction activity at 1610 Magic Kingdom Drive near the Haunted Mansion. Walt Disney Imagineering is associated with the filing, PCL Construction Services is listed as the contractor, and the scope describes general construction.
For now, the Notice of Commencement confirms construction activity at a new address near the attraction. The location, earlier permit documents and D23 model provide evidence that the project may involve a restroom facility serving the developing area.
