Jay-Z is set to headline the Super Bowl 61 halftime show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The league, Roc Nation, and Apple Music confirmed the booking for the ESPN/ABC/Disney+ broadcast.

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

The choice folds into Roc Nation’s existing role as the NFL’s live music entertainment partner since 2019. Jay-Z chairs the company that helps shape the show, a setup that has already delivered Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny under that deal.

The rapper just played SoFi earlier in October on the Jay-Z 30 Tour marking three decades since “Reasonable Doubt.” Super Bowl LXI will be the stadium’s second title-game hosting after Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s Super Bowl LVI set.

Kid Rock, who headlined Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show last year, made a separate DEI critique of the NFL on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show on Feb. 9, 2026, months before this booking landed. “Nothing against Jay-Z… But it seems like there’s a little bit of a DEI hire there going on,” he said in that earlier clip, which wasn’t a response to the Super Bowl 61 announcement.

The booking lands in a live-music lane the NFL has kept politically noisy for two seasons running.

What the NFL and Roc Nation Put on the Record

The announcement packages Jay-Z as both headliner and continuity with the Roc Nation era of the show. League notes already float speculation about guest stars, with Beyonce – a Super Bowl XLVII headliner and Super Bowl 50 guest – atop the parlor list after joining him on the recent Inglewood date.

Valentine’s Day billing on ABC, ESPN, Disney+, and NFL+ gives the performance the widest possible carriage the NFL can muster for a February Sunday.

Why the Booking Was Always Plausible

Roc Nation’s contract made a Jay-Z headlining night structurally easy even before the formal reveal. He has been adjacent to every modern halftime choice since 2020; stepping onstage himself closes a loop the partnership opened.

Whether guest-star rumors pan out, the Feb. 14 slot at SoFi is now locked to Shawn Carter’s name on the NFL’s marquee.
