A comparison of 2015 offerings at Walt Disney World with the options of today has revealed that guests just aren’t getting quite as much as years ago.
We’ve lost a few things at Walt Disney World since the pandemic. Cost-cutting has been a major issue with the word “complimentary” becoming a bit of a dodo bird. It was not always the case. For most of Disney World’s existence, cast members were encouraged to find ways to make guest interactions truly spectacular. The thinking was that these once-in-a-lifetime interactions and treatments would cause families to go home and begin planning their next trip — or even telling others that they really should go!
Now we’re not here to bemoan Disney Parks to the point of doomsday gloom. But to ignore the amount of magic that is gone from a Disney World vacation is also not a healthy way to report objectively on the world’s most traversed theme park. There’s a reason that Trip Advisor readers recently voted Dollywood, not the Magic Kingdom, as the best theme park in America.
For all of the reasons mentioned above, I was particularly impressed with a tweet from Scott Gustin this morning. In it, he superbly notes the change in Disney World from 2015 to today with only a single sentence and a perfectly unearthed commercial. Check out the tweet and see if you can spot all the things that have changed for the worse:
2015 somehow feels like yesterday but also 20 years ago https://t.co/yYLyUNO0Ik

What I wouldn’t give to have the parks go back to paper Fastpass machines where everyone in the park gets the same complimentary perks. And all of it without having to live on your screen while you are supposed to be away from the rest of the world!
So tell us what you miss most about the older Disney World offerings? What service or feature has been cut that you would want to see brought back in the future? Drop a comment down below and keep reading That Park Place for all the latest news that should be fun!
