Utter chaos descended upon Knott’s Berry Farm as a result of uncivilized and violent behavior by a large number of young people.

It was an unruly and unacceptable night of chaos as roving bands of teenagers and young adults clashed with security and law enforcement at Knott’s Berry Farm last night. The unrest was exacerbated by shouts of an active shooter situation although that would later be found untrue. Reports are that employees and innocent bystanders in Knott’s Berry Farm were traumatized by the event, and given the nature of the videos which have come to light, that does seem likely.

Perhaps parts of the country focusing on negativity towards law enforcement, laws, and authority are not having the desired impact on society. It seems a systemic issue when this number of young people can engage in mob mentality at a family amusement park.

A statement from Knott’s Berry Farm made clear why they were forced to close the park three hours early. The closure might more accurately be described as a forced evacuation, but we understand why they’re going with the terminology included:

Should Knott’s Berry Farm release more information or add new safety measures to the park, we will cover it here at That Park Place. As of now, the park already has extensive metal detection services and security efforts. It would seem that media companies and retail corporations have a vested interest in working to solve this societal problem in which teenagers can break into anarchy and violence. This isn’t civilized behavior that permits companies to operate.
