Are we all heading back to Arlen for another dose of propane and medium rare steaks? If so, it might involve a bit more father-son dynamic.
The following article features some rumor and speculation based on unconfirmed potential leaks of a pre-release product. A grain of salt is best with this… as well as with a bowl of Spa-Peggy and Meatballs.
Last month, cartoonist and voice actor Mike Judge, declared that there is a “good chance” that Hank Hill and his Arlen, Texas gang would be returning. The reboot to the popular cartoon, King of the Hill, would potentially see the Hills and their neighbors fifteen years older. That would mean an adult Bobby Hill, along with Hank and Peggy as likely empty nesters.

And though we’ve known for a while that series creator Mike Judge was very interested in bringing the show back at a different time in the characters’ lives, I do have some additional information. In terms of what we’ve known, here’s where we were a month ago from Collider:
It looks like fans of the long-running animated series King of the Hill have reason to celebrate, as it has just been announced that the series will be revived twelve years after its final episode aired, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Original series creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge will return to oversee the series through their new animation company, Bandera Entertainment.
There are more than a dozen projects in the works under the newly formed animation company, but perhaps the most notable is the King of the Hill revival. The series originally aired from 1997 until 2010 and followed the banal yet entertaining exploits of the humble citizens of Arlen, Texas. Upon its premiere in 1997, the show was an almost immediate success, and offered a unique insight into the middle-America mindset, led by the moral compass of propane and propane accessory salesman Hank Hill.

So here’s the new info / rumor I’ve come across from a frequent messenger:
According to a source familiar with DMED proceedings, there may be a new deal forthcoming that will have Hank Hill and the gang appearing on a Disney+ or Hulu exclusive show called “Kings of the Hill.” Again, according to the source, the show from Mike Judge would have Hank Hill and Bobby Hill struggling with a father-son relationship as Bobby is navigating the world… not always in the way Hank thinks is best. According to the source, the pitch that Disney and Bandera Entertainment are looking at is a potential pilot that would have Bobby Hill marrying Connie Souphanousinphone, much to her father’s disapproval. But with her father a now wealthy individual, Bobby and Connie would move into the vacated home next to Bobby’s parents with Bobby apprehensive about being under the watchful eye of his father.
Of course, we’re talking about very early talks here, not to mention a pilot that hasn’t been fully written or produced. Things could change but it does now seem very likely that King(s) of the Hill is coming to Disney+. And gal-dang it, I just can’t wait.

I’m surprised it wasn’t called “Queen of the Hill”.
Bobby and Connie have transitioned into Bobbi and Kahn Jr and Hank will have to grapple with his transphobia.
Yes! I can’t wait for this. Mike Judge is killing it lately, 90s style, tossing PC in the garbage, where it belongs.
Will Luann’s daughter Gracie appear, and if so will her parents appear and will they speak? Since sadly both Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty have passed away.
