While I have skipped Disney/ Marvel for the whole summer due to Disney’s politics and messaging in their movies and I won’t even touch Disney + because it doesn’t add enough spark to the day or week nor does it present value to me. But I hope the MCU isn’t done. I hope people see that as Marvel steams toward Secret Wars they are steaming toward a blank slate to start over. Between now and then I hope that Feige and / or Alonso are replaced by someone else who is passionate about comics or about making solid live action films that are woven together and family friendly. What I’d like to see therefore would be less Disney + shows and three or four good Marvel movies. And if Disney insists on putting politics in the MCU I’d rather it be in the shows that I don’t watch anyway. Finally, regarding Wakanda Forever I was thinking I’d see the film because I wanted the give the director support, but after seeing pictures of Ironheart on set I’m out ands Wakanda Forever will be a skip for me. Why because I want to imagine War Machine there instead. In fact I’d rather a good War Machine movie than a bland War Machine show. I’d really like to see Disney / Marvel finish out the arch’s and contracts of characters and actors for Infinity era characters with the exception of Captain Marvel unless the role is recast. Feige continues to put out bland disappointing messes and yes I hope something is done to clean that up.

There is no such thing as a blank slate in life……… Marvel’s Secret Wars is competing with what they had achieved with Infinity War. If Marvel can’t produce something of equivalent quality level at least then they shouldn’t bother producing it. It will look bad in comparison.

The fact Ironheart bothers you that much is dumb.

Mutale Mwananshiku

Whats the politics having non straight white males ?

The initial impression with the title is that Feige has months, yet you two admitted he has a grace period of years? ಠಿ_ಠ ? ? ! Anyway, if he fails, this gives the Russos – the possible replacements – a reprieve because the reception to The Gray Man seemed to be very negative (although, that could be social media clique stuff); moreover, per The Entertainment Strategy Guy, for Week 1, The Gray Man had less viewers than The Christmas Chronicles 2, Don’t Look Up, and Luca. (i.e. if Feige has only months, I don’t think there would be excitement for The Russos replacing him; it would not ease the anxiousness some would feel).

Masterman

It depends on the reception of the upcoming movies, cause the movie which I am the most afraid for is Captain America 4. Anthony Mackie has the charisma of ham sandwich and it is extremely brave for Marvel to make a movie with him as a lead. We could be seeing a Lightyear level flop with that movie, and that could make Feige’s position untenable.

Mutale Mwananshiku

Lol what mackie is very charismatic and held his own in falcon and winyer soldier and he can lead a movie.

Valliant Renegade

The video title says “Marvel” not Feige. And our exploratory remakrs stand based on the math, facts, and financial analysts. Thanks.

I can’t believe Feige lost his story instincts so quickly or completely, so I’m always searching for an explanation. Maybe he has been afraid Victoria Alonso would do to him what he did to Perlmutter, and use any hint of anti-progressiveness as the excuse to boot him and take his place. So he let Victoria run wild and put no curbs on her ideas, so she never had a wedge issue to use against him. Victoria’s days seem numbered now, so maybe when she is out, Feige will feel safe and start enforcing quality control? A lot of this era of the MCU feels slapdash, like a novel with no editors at work.

KJ

Or Feige had no story instinct.

Feige was Marvel’s movie guy when Marvel was broke. Feige is responsible for Spider-Man 3, Elektra, Daredevil, Blade Trinity, X-Men The last Stand and others.

Feige is attached to most of the bad Marvel Movies before Ironman.

For Ironman, Favreau came in and demanded Robert Downey Jr as the lead actor. RDJ with Favreau started and maintained the decade of Marvel.

Now we have Feige searching for Blade Trinity or Spider-Man dance scenes to add to every Marvel property.

PattyLuPwnz

Let’s not forget Avi Arad…

Mutale Mwananshiku

Feige was involved with spider-mans 1 and 2 everything with spider-man 3 was mandates from avi arad. Je was involved with hulk and x-men why are u making up lies just to make favreau awesome? Yeah favreau chose downey but feige had ot be the one to approve him being cast.

Mutale Mwananshiku

Im not sure how feige lost his story instincts.

The MCU ending up on the right side of the bell curve was always going to happen after Endgame regardless of quality. However, I understand that the divisive reactions to just about everything in Phase 4 certainly isn’t helping matters.

Although I personally believe that The Infinity Saga and it’s associated characters will remain consistently profitable assets in the Disney portfolio for decades to come, I’m not so sure that the MCU is sustainable as a continuing franchise long-term. In my honest opinion, Marvel Studios will be able to maintain decent footing until GotG Vol. 3, but everything after that is a bit up in the air.

With GotG Vol. 3 being one of the last currently announced projects centered around key characters established in The Infinity Saga, I think a lot of people will get a sense of closure as whatever loose ends Endgame left behind are tied up and become even less likely to keep up with the MCU. While there’s always a chance that Marvel Studios will bring in new characters that become popular enough to generate some amount of public interest in the franchise as others leave, I highly doubt the level of overall interest that climaxed with Infinity War and Endgame is something they’ll ever see again.

Do you all remember when Feige had a public spat with the Marvel comics editorial review “board”? At the time that board with comics people from Marvel had some review/say in the Marvel movies. Feige didn’t want that anymore/didn’t want Perlmutter to have any say and went directly to Bob Iger. Iger removed the Marvel board’s role in the MCU movies and had Feige report directly to Iger himself. The first move with no Marvel board involvement was Dr. Strange.

I wonder what in particular the Marvel board added/subtracted…that Feige didn’t like? Was it just a “I want total control” thing? Was the Marvel board reigning him in on movies including socio-political content? Granted terrific MCU movies were made both during and after the Marvel board’s involvement. Just interested to understand what the real crux of the issue with the board was, and would the movies be different if it was still in place?
