In light of the recent news that Andor is going to be a partisan reflection on modern politics, a video about Star Wars universal motifs is even more poignant.
Recently, I came across a fantastic little documentary / thinkpiece centered on the Mandalorian. The video came from the YouTube Channel Artorr, and delves into the fusion of Eastern and Western mythology that led to the creation of the Star Wars mythos. It is especially brought to the forefront in The Mandalorian.
Watching this video with my son reminded me why I have loved The Mandalorian so much, up to this point. While the piece is a bit more forgiving and optimistic than I think current Mickey Mouse Star Wars warrants, I recommend it for all Star Wars fans or those who just want to have positive feelings rekindled in what feels like such a dark time.
