If you haven’t been paying attention to world news lately, you might be unaware that millions upon millions of people in Shanghai are being incarcerated in their apartments, Due to China’s “zero COVID” policy, the entire city is on lockdown with people literally wailing at night out their windows as they struggle to stay alive. A food emergency has broken out with a true urban famine fully in place.
China’s largest #Covid outbreak in 2 years continues to spread despite an extended lockdown of Shanghai’s 25 million people.
Even the wealthy are struggling to buy food as the city’s lockdown drags on, @allenwan290 reports https://t.co/HEwqEkRS6V pic.twitter.com/BTewrTEUUF

What the?? This video taken yesterday in Shanghai, China, by the father of a close friend of mine. She verified its authenticity: People screaming out of their windows after a week of total lockdown, no leaving your apartment for any reason. pic.twitter.com/iHGOO8D8Cz

Despite having spoken out about teaching children in kindergarten the basics of gender fluidity and sexual orientation, as well as having gone so far as their CEO apologizing over his silence, the company is now completely silent about the catastrophe in China. To fully explain that, if you feel badly about a prohibition of sexual topics in kindergarten, Disney will speak out strongly in your favor as long as that is in the United States. But if you are a cast member working at Shanghai Disney and you are now locked in your apartment starving to death in China, well… sucks to be you, right?
Now critics are beginning to take notice of the disparity, and shall we say… hypocrisy?
I wonder how @DisneyParks employees are being treated right now in Shanghai.
No update from @Disney on the matter. Strange. 🤔

Do y'all realize Disney has a theme park in Shanghai? Why isn't Disney speaking up about their employees being locked in their homes? Cats and dogs are being killed in mass and Disney Inc is busy trying to chemically castrate your kids in Florida.

I’d like to remind you that nearly every studio Disney owns came out to voice their concern for basic human rights when the Florida law passed prohibiting sexual orientation instruction in the kindergarten classroom. But when it comes to employees being starved to death in their apartments, there’s not a single peep about human rights at all.
That’s why when these people inside Disney speak up about human rights, you should completely ignore them. They’re despicable people who pick and choose their human rights outrage sessions depending on political strategy. They don’t care about suffering, they care about power. I hate to be that way and speak that bluntly, but there’s literally no other conclusion one can draw when comparing prohibition of sexual instruction in kindergarten with literal starvation and the mass-killing of pets. That’s right, if you catch COVID in Shanghai, they haul you to a detention center and they kill all your pets. Not a peep out of Disney, though.
I’ll be posting a bunch of Reimaging Tomorrow news over the next days, including factual data… but nothing I can write will be as compelling for you to understand the real motivations of Disney personnel as this article. They’ll strike “ladies and gentlemen” from the park to make a political point, but if you moved to China to play Snow White, you can starve to death or go insane from being locked in a five-hundred square foot apartment. They don’t care enough to say a single word in your favor.
For all the news about Disney, keep checking out That Park Place. I look very forward to the day we can go back to news stories on attraction updates, refurbishments, etc. In the meantime, we’ll keep reporting on these very serious issues of which Disney has fallen very short.
