In response to this post, Roseanne Barr stated, “Hello.”

Barr’s ABC sitcom, Roseanne, was cancelled back in May 2018 after she wrote a tweet comparing Valerie Jarret to the offspring of the Planet of the Apes and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Barr posted, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj”.

Barr later apologized for the post writing, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

The apology would not be a enough, as reported by The New York Times, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey announced, “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.”

Jarrett for her part said during an MSNBC town hall, “We have to turn it into a teaching moment.”

She also shared, “Bob Iger, who’s the C.E.O. of Disney, called me before the announcement. He apologized. He said that he had zero tolerance for that sort of racist, bigoted comment, and he wanted me to know before he made it public that he was canceling the show.”

While Barr indicates she also wants to sue The Walt Disney Company, Musk shared Carano’s suit is likely just “one of many lawsuits against Disney.”

He added, “They have been blatantly racist, sexist & censorious for years, which means there is a vast treasure trove of emails/texts/slack/etc.”

Musk also stated, “Disney has almost certainly broken the law thousands of times (no exaggeration).”
