Actress Rosario Dawson, who plays Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: Ahsoka, recently confirmed that discussions for a second season have not happened.

In an interview as part of Entertainment Weekly’s Dagobah Dispatch, Dawson shared, “I’m grateful that we have the holidays to go into. Even now with the strike over, there’s no work really to be done.

She continued, “Everyone’s already at that point of, ‘Let’s circle back at the end of the year,’ kind of thing and I’m like, ‘Oh, thank god’, because I need a moment still to keep taking this all in and just seeing the reaction before jumping back into it – which I hope we do, that we get to.”

When asked whether she’s had conversations about returning to the role, Dawson replied, “No. We’re supposed to be having a dinner soon of the whole cast, which will be really nice because I haven’t seen everyone.”

“I was very jealous seeing everyone at some of these cons recently, which I wasn’t able to be at, so I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone,” she concluded.

Dawson’s comments appear to confirm a report from October that a second season for the show was not “locked yet.”

That report came from Deadline’s Anthony D’Alessandro. He shared, “We hear that Ahsoka Season 2 is more of a reality in the conversation, though nothing is locked yet.”

The show faced poor viewership with Samba TV reporting that it lost nearly a third of audience through its run and was down over 40% compared to The Mandalorian Season 3 finale.

The analytics firm shared that the season finale for the series only drew in 863,000 US households over a six day period after it was released on Disney+.

That was down from the series premiere which only brought in 1.2 million US households over the same 6-day time period. That’s a total decline of 337,000 US households or a drop in 28% of viewers.

The finale was also down compared to The Mandalorian Season 3 finale. According to Samba TV, The Mandalorian Season 3 concluded with 1.4 million US households tuning in to watch over its first five days.

Not only did the show perform worse than The Mandalorian Season 3 finale, but it performed worse than Andor’s season 1 finale.

As noted by X user NowItsKnown, the Ahsoka finale only brought in 575 million minutes for its season finale while Andor had nearly a 100 million more minutes at 674 million minutes for its season finale.

Infamously, Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy detailed that the show was chasing the audience. He told Variety, “I think I was surprised. I thought the show would go the other way, that we would have this gigantic, instantaneous audience that would just be everywhere, but that it would take forever for non-‘Star Wars’ people or critics or my cohort of friends to get involved in the show.”

“The opposite happened. We ended up with all this critical praise, all this deep appreciation and understanding from really surprising number of sources, and we’re chasing the audience,” he admitted.
