In the wake of Ubisoft refusing to delay Star Wars Outlaws after massive complaints about graphics and AI detection, a new clip of the game has surfaced showing just how buggy and broken the game’s AI detection and combat is.

As shared to social media by X user Mangalawyer, a review of Star Wars Outlaws from IGN praises the game’s blaster battles while showing a blaster battle that is completely broken.
As seen in the video below, the game’s main character Kay Vess is inside some kind of warehouse and is engaging what looks to be the Pyke Syndicate. She immediately unloads her pistol into one enemy, but it does not appear to kill the enemy, instead he appears to have a seizure and is only stunned. After the enemy recovers from the stun, it just stands there at point blank range instead of killing Vess. In fact, it actually turns and begins moving away from her.
Another NPC also runs up and gets into point blank range, but does nothing. Vess then moves into another corridor and the NPC follows her and even runs into her, but does not fire its blaster until multiple seconds later.

READ: Ubisoft Responds To Plethora Of Complaints About ‘Star Wars Outlaws’ After Gamers Roast Gameplay
As noted above, this footage has surfaced after Ubisoft refused to delay the release of the game after receiving a plethora of complaints upon releasing 10 minutes of gameplay footage earlier this month. In fact, the company’s executives repeatedly claimed they would be showing high quality footage as the game got closer to release.
Ubisoft partnered with IGN to share 10 minutes of gameplay for the game that was uploaded to the company’s YouTube channel.
Players have made it abundantly clear they were not impressed by the gameplay. It was received over 95,000 dislikes compared to just 12,000 likes.

In the comments they roasted the footage. 71Chevelle1989 mocked, “Calm down guys this is footage from the Nintendo Gamecube version.”
Another posted, “Is this another AAAA game? The explosion effect that was worse than the Uncharted 2 that came out in PS3 is amazing.”
Ignskeletons referenced The Acolyte to mock the game, “The power of one, the power of two, the power of don’t pre-order.”
“She runs like my 60 year old uncle in flip flops trying to catch up to his beer rolling down the sidewalk,” posted iosonoi.7132.

These negative reactions were brought up during Ubisoft’s recent Q1 sales report call. One investor from Bank of America questioned Ubisoft’s narrative that the game was receiving positive feedback and even questioned if Ubisoft would delay the game following the negative feedback.
Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot responded to the inquiry, “The game has gone gold. So the date is well confirmed for August 13th. And, as you mentioned, we’ll be showcasing more content of a very high quality, multiple hours that will really show the depths of the open world, that is a key element of the promise to enjoy the exploration of the galaxy and with multiple planets. So that will bode well for the game in terms of high quality delivery.”
The company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Frédérick Duguet also added, “We’ve said also for Star Wars the level of quality, the world, and the experience it’s really very high. We are really leveraging our engine and I think people will love it.”

This appears to be a disastrous decision for the company as more footage is revealed showing just how buggy and mediocre the game really is. Even gamers who were given access to the game early have not been fully sold
YouTuber ACC stated, “In almost four hours with the game shows that a couple of the promises the developers have stated are absolutely true: size of the explorable world, how long you can experience it. Those seem pretty on point. Four hours was two locations for me with barely anything explored across both of them.”
He then pointed out a number of negatives, “Nevertheless, would also indicate some noticeable problems including less than stellar effects, but also what appears to be a desire to carve off the edge of characters like a sculptor pissy at his creation the next morning. And this was in a couple of the cutscenes. It’s crazy to think that the murderous blue milk swill and hobo uncle that Luke turned into in the three later movies might be downright shocking now compared to what it feels more when it comes to these movies and these games: an almost TV like de-edging in Outlaws.”
YouTuber Skill Up also decried the game’s combat saying, “I do think this is mechanically very simple and at times a little too simple, a little too narrow in terms of the agency it affords you. It can feel very on rails in a way that is frustrating. The stealth model is pretty played out and the combat is little to write home about. The outer space ship combat stuff is not good, I think, it feels more like a mini-game than an actual core component of the experience.”
While he blasted the game, he also added, “I genuinely had a good time playing for four hours because I really did feel kind of spirited away as I explored new planets, met new characters, uncovered hide side quests, made decisions about who to side with or betray. As a Star Wars adventure I was into this to the point where it helped me look past those obvious gameplay shortcomings. But it’s not going to be the same for everyone and I do predict a mixed reception to this.”
To this point, he noted, “If you’re a Star Wars fan and you’re looking for some good old-fashioned Star Wars and you want to be immersed in that galaxy far, far away like almost no other game before has been able to do then I think you will get a kick out of this, but if you are looking for something deeply playable, I suspect this will not be it.”
