Early last week, one of our writers at That Park Place, WDW Pro, wrote about a rumor that Disney World is experiencing lower bookings for the spring. Now it appears that new information is verifying that scoop. From Pro’s article:
One of the issues may be that the public is beginning to hear from friends and families about their experiences in going to Walt Disney World. In October, I covered my experience going to Disney World with a large group where I had the chance to see how others transversed all the new anti-consumer policies put into Disney World since its reopening. Frankly, it wasn’t good, and much of the magic truly is gone from the happiest place on earth. I don’t say that with joy; I plan to return to Disney World as a guest very soon, and I wish it was the full experience I’d like to have again. But it isn’t.

The information that Pro provided about reservations appearing to be down is now apparently materializing. Select Disney World hotels from March 6, 2022 through July 7, 2022 are being discounted by up to $100 per night in an attempt to lure would-be vacationers. The “select” part seems to extend to most moderate and deluxe hotel accommodations, but there are a few things you should know:
- Additional per-adult charges may apply if more than 2 adults per room at Disney Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts and Studios at Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts.
- Advance reservations required.
- Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
- Offer excludes the following room types: 3-bedroom villas, The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Little Mermaid Standard Rooms.
- Valid admission and a park reservation are required to enjoy theme parks and special events and are not included in this offer.
- Disney Resort hotel reopening dates are subject to change.
What’s really funny is that the hotel discounts begin exactly when WDW Pro had reported that he was hearing reservations were lower than optimal for Walt Disney World. We’ll now have to see if this is enough to entice more guests to start filling up those hotel rooms and theme park reservations…
