An artist who released Universal Studios theme park concept art now claims the images areΒ not of a Universal Studios Europe theme park to be allegedly under development. There are a few problems with that claim.
Yesterday we covered what appeared to be confirmation of Universal Studios Europe. An artist on Twitter decided to put out “work in progress” for Universal, then added to the thread a message about how they’d be able to discuss this more in the future.
here are some fun snippets of a #WIP project thatβs currently in development with truly one of the best clients iβve ever had the pleasure of working with!

However, hours later, Emory Arts “clarified” that this wasΒ not concept art for any new theme park or theme park resort. Instead, this was just a re-imagining of concept art for Universal Studios Orlando.

Emory Arts may be telling the truth. Who knows? However, there are strong indications that these images are not at all depicting anything in Florida. Perhaps this is a major cleanup after letting a cat out of the bag before Universal Studios was ready?
Indications that these images are of leaked concept art for Universal Studios Europe:
1. Mountainous backdrops depicting alpine terrain unlike Universal Studios Orlando.
2. How to Train Your Dragon iconography not present in Florida’s Islands of Adventure (going into Epic Universe there instead).
3. Bridges and entrances in the two theme park concepts here do not match existing parks (Florida’s version of Universal Studios has a bridge directly to the entrance, this has a bridge coming at an angle).
4. Paths near the Minions attraction in this concept art do not match any existing theme park layout.
5. The Jurassic World area in the concept art is completely unattached from anything matching Universal Studios Orlando (new mountain, no Velocicoaster, extra bridge, new waterways).
I personally have no idea why you would depict concept art of Florida theme parks as having huge natural mountains in the background. That makes no sense at all. I also do not know why How to Train Your Dragon symbols would appear in Islands of Adventure. It doesn’t exist there. It’s going in Epic Universe. I don’t know why there would be vast bodies of water in places where those do not exist in Universal Studios Orlando. I don’t know why bridges and paths would be altered in the concept art, having dead ends where none exists, excluding important images and changing the directions that guests come to entrances.
All of those are bizarre when trying to depict a Sunshine State reimagining of existing theme parks.
We’ll have a video out today on my YouTube channel with VashSky. In the meantime, come to your own conclusion. Is this just reconceptualizing Orlando or is this something new, likely coming to Europe? Let us know in the comments below.
