So you bought your kid a hundred-dollar Grogu Baby Yoda toy and thought you were really spending money, huh? Think again…
When Baby Yoda, also known as Grogu, came on the scene, the marketing gurus must have fell to their knees and wept with joy. Even though some people are now claiming that Grogu is a copy of Gizmo, there’s no faking the enthusiasm some have for the infantile muppet with green elven ears. The question for vendors at SDCC is just how far that enthusiasm will go. For FX Collectibles, they’re betting that enthusiasm will go far enough that at least a few people will pay a Tesla’s-amount for a lifelike Baby Yoda.
Introducing a Baby Yoda animatronic that will set you back $85,000 – $100,000:
The folks at @eFXCollectibles have created an animatronic puppet Grogu that will be the must have. This is the base model with 15 individual movements starting between $85,000 to $100,000 but each will be custom built. #SDCC2022 pic.twitter.com/3bbXREdMSf

In my opinion, the eyes aren’t completely right and the hair is not quite as well-done as on the actual production. Other than that, this piece of technology looks like a dead ringer for the puppetry used on the show. That’s a heck of an accomplishment for FXC!
Great job to everyone at the company. Now… can we get a Gizmo so there’s no more feuding between creatives?

Pretty incredible piece, but good luck dealing with EFX. Unfortunately, their reputation is terrible on delivering the actual goods. Most prop collectors that actually want an EFX piece will purchase 2nd hand, from a retailer or previous owner, because EFX doesn’t deliver, unfortunately. :(
I have a few helmets from them, but purchased them from SideShow and BigBadToyStore. Too many bad stories. Still an awesome feat, though.
