Black Lightning creator Tony Isabella recently shared he will work with comic conventions to get what he deems “right wing creeps” kicked from conventions.
Isabella shared to X, “If I’m at a con, my booth is a safe place for LGTBQ+ folks or anyone being harassed by right-wing creeps. Come to my table. We’ll get the con involved. We’ll do our best to get the creeps booted from the con. No event should ever be okay with these creeps.”
He added in a subsequent tweet, “Delighted by how many have liked this here, Bluesky and Facebook. Humbled by being praised for posting it. What I’m wondering is…where are the big comics names? This would carry a lot more weight if our best and most popular comics creators posted it on their various venues.”
Isabella is no stranger for trying to get people booted from comic conventions. Back in July 2023 he attempted to have Eric July booted from San Diego Comic-Con.
July shared a post to X announcing he would be at the CGC Comics booth at 12 PM local time, “12pm catch me at CGC Comics/CGC Signature Series booth. Booth 901.”
Twitter user ChecKtheCircuiT would then attempt to get July cancelled by labeling him as an “outright cruel, hurtful & bigoted offense to the invitees & attendees.”
Isabella would then chime in, “Come on, CGC and Comic-Con! You can do better than empowering an unsavory (to put it mildly) person like this.”
He then added, “Jack Kirby would have punched him out.”
What do you make of Tony Isabella declaring he will try and get “right wing creeps” kicked out of comic conventions he attends?
Tony Isabella is a disgusting cancel pig. There’s a reason that term ‘Cancel Pig’ exists.
It’s a shame a cis white male would try use his privilege to kick out a man of color
They’re just making up a problem that doesn’t exist to virtue signal. Typically when people go to cons, they’re going for the booths/stuff, not other people
